The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in the best winter sports resorts in northern Italy. Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are the main venues. The opening ceremony will be celebrated on February 4, 2026 in Milan. Figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey also take place there.
Cortina d’Ampezzo will be the venue for bobsledding and curling.
Exciting events are also planned in Valtellina with the freestyle ski and snowboard events in Livignio and alpine downhill in Bormio.
Ski jumping, Nordic combined and cross-country skiing take place in Val di Fiemmi (Fiemme Valley) in the Dolomites. For the first time, South Tyrol Olympic medals will be awarded in Antholz – this is where the biathletes compete.
Baselga di Piné or also known as Wasilig-Pineid is set as a venue for speed skating.
The closing ceremony will take place in Verona on February 22nd before the Paralympics open there on March 6th.
